Racing from the Weekend!

Donington Park

BTC Racing, Newsham Update!

As proud sponsors of Dave Newsham, we are excited to bring you the latest on the previous weekend of BTC Racing.

After a very chilly morning at the Donington Park free practice, BTC Norlin Racing (Dave Newsham’s Team) had mixed results during the first session, with Northern Irish man Chris Smiley (teammate) finishing in P8, and Dave Newsham having a trickier session, ending in P30.

“Free practice did not go according to plan, as it was beset with issues, all of which have now been addressed. Our weekend starts in free practice 2!”

The top 17 positions were seperated by less than a second which shows that there is a very little seperating the drivers.

Weather aside; there was not a dull moment at the afternoons free practice session.

Free practice 2 was rounded out by Chris Smiley finishing in 8th and Dave Newsham in 12th.

Onto qualifying, which for BTC Norlin Racing, proved difficult. The afternoon finished with Chris in 22nd and Dave in 24th.

“We struggled in qualifying, which is maybe an area we need to work on.”

Dave, who fought his way through the pack by making his way from 20th to 8th.

“Race two was an absolute cracker!”

This finish allowed Newsham to avail of the reverse grid draw which meant that he would start race three in pole position!

Race three presented Dave with an amazing opportunity to give the team a place on the podium.

However, the heavens opened and it turned into a wet race. “We have had zero testing in the wet so I was disappointed when the rain came” said Newsham

Dave managed to finish 4th, just outside of a podium finish! “We showed that as a team we have the pace and Dave finished so close to the podium and that makes us want to push harder”.

It is looking promising for the BTC Norlin Racing team and we love the great entertainment the BTCC has to offer. We shall keep you updated on how Dave is getting on throughout the season. If you would like to go and watch the BTCC please click the link:

Vendman Main Sponsor -The Vendies

Vendman MD Rob Little was delighted to confirm our sponsorship of The Vendies to be held on 28th June at The Millenium Gloucester, in London

‘Vendman has made its name by giving vending operators complete control over their businesses. We work with our clients every day in pursuit of excellence in vending, so we’re delighted to be Main Sponsor for The Vendies, the awards that recognise and reward excellence. It’s a perfect fit.’ Said Rob.

We truly hope that the Vending Industry will support these awards by submitting applications and then voting for their favourites in each category.

… and of course it’ll be great to see everyone book a table at the awards ceremony.

Now You Can Use Parcel Holders Via Your Vendman Software

They haven’t been around for too long, but we couldn’t help noticing that many of our customers choose Parcel Holders to solve their spare parts logistics problems.

MD Ed Fraser saw the connection too and he asked us, ‘since so many vending companies log on to Vendman everyday, wouldn’t it be great if they could access the Parcel Holders service via Vendman?’

Step One in achieving this was the creation of an API, which  stands for Application Programme Interface.  Basically, it’s a set of functions and procedures that enable the creation of Apps, which in turn can be used to access the features or data of an operating system, application, or other service.

Prior to integrating with Vendman, Parcel Holders customers had been required to go to their web site, log in; find the details of the engineer they want; identify an appropriate PUDO (PickUp, DropOff point) and then fill in any other required details; such as consignment value, job number, special requests and so on. Added to the reporting protocol that highlighted the requirement in the first place, and that was a lot of duplication of activity, right there…

At least, it was: it isn’t any more… ‘The API provides a simple way of sending a file to our computer and as long as it’s formatted as per instructions, that’s all that has to be done’, Ed said. ‘It misses out the middle man: to reiterate, you don’t have to log into our system to use the service.’

By accessing Parcel Holders’ services via the Vendman platform, the risk of human error from manual data input is eliminated, the time required to create deliveries is reduced; data inputting duplication is history and all parties are automatically kept ‘in the loop’.

‘Parcel Holders provides a service that both vending operators and machine manufacturers have adopted’, Rob Little said. ‘They were making a video to demonstrate how easy it is to use their service; it was ‘A Day In The Life’ of an engineer and when the camera started to roll, the first thing the subject of the video (Dave Bryant of Uvenco) said about his working day was that he ‘logs on to Vendman’. I think that’s when the original inspiration to link our software to their service was born.’

The deal between Vendman and Parcel Holders is an ‘exclusive’, meaning that Vendman is the only management software platform with which Parcel Holders will integrate.

‘It’s yet another reason for choosing Vendman’, Rob said.
